J.Andreatta couture house

When it comes to choosing your wedding outfit, don’t think you have to choose a conventional one.

I love encouraging my couples to honour their style personality. If you’re a fashion lover like myself, stay true to yourself and select a gown or suit that speaks to you. Don’t try and make yourself a different person just for your wedding day.

J.Andreatta couture house, based in Sydney, Australia is one of my favourites in the industry. Designing feminine, modern, and effortlessly chic gowns for brides looking for something with a little edge. Using unexpected fabrications and some silhouettes that create more of a fashion-forward look than the traditional “bridal look”.

My bride Tyler, who got married at the magnificent Art Gallery of NSW, wore the Paradiso blush gown from J.Andreatta’s The Art of Love A/W20 Collection paired with a sheer bolero for the ceremony. The shoes? Ty wasn’t a heel girl so she opted for a Spring Court sneaker. How cool is that! She looked divine and felt completely herself in a non-traditional white gown.

Designer Jessica told me about one of her brides, who married in winter, wore a cashmere sweater paired with a J.Andreatta silver embroidered full length tulle skirt. Inspired by Olivia Palermo’s wedding outfit but customised for winter.

The moral of the blog post here is to embrace your own style.

Here are a few tips:

  • Reference fashion magazines as well as bridal magazines.

  • Accessories can make all of the difference! Look for a modern headpiece, dramatic veil, bag and shoes.

  • Consider changing into a second outfit. It could be a jumpsuit, two-piece suit, sexy party dress, you name it!

  • Think outside of the white-shade colour box - could a colour other than white/ivory/bone work for you?

  • Would a two-piece be more you?Think bodice and skirt, etc.

I hope this post inspires you to think outside of the box when it comes to choosing your wedding attire.
